The 6th of February is the official World Muaythai Day in honour of “Phra Chao Suea” the “Tiger King” marking his coronation day on the 6th of February 1702.

Since 2013, which marked the inauguration of this important day for all nak muays around the world, IFMA and the World Muaythai Council have played an integral part in not only in the establishment but the execution of the festivities with Wai Kru performances, live shows, education forums and this year, the celebration will be done in 152 countries around the world.

February 6th, 2024 will include performances from Nak Muay of all abilities from all 5 continents and everyone will join in at the celebration at Thailand National Sport University, Bangkok campus.

IFMA President, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, stated that IFMA and Thailand can be proud of the many achievements from the ancient times to the modern world where today muaythai is fully recognized by the IOC not only as a combat sport but also the cultural aspects of Wai Kru and Mai Muay.

Both recognised Thai national organisations, AMTAT under the Presidency of Dr. Tapsuwan, also the President of IFMA and Khun Somchart Charoenwacharawit, the President of PAT and Vice President of IFMA, will all come together to celebrate with the world.
