IFMA and Muaythai is recognized by the Olympic Council of Asia since 1998 and is part of many multi sport games under the umbrella of the OCA.
Muaythai already has been demonstration sport in the Asian Games, included in Asian Beach Games and Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games. The beautiful city of Ashgabat in the heart of Turkmenistan was the city for the 34th Annual General Meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia and IFMA was invited by the Olympic Committee of Asia for the conference.
IFMA and its continental federation FAMA, will continue to work close with OCA and all their affiliated National Olympic Committees for the development of sport on Asia and cultural exchange.
