IFMA follows a strict policy on cooperation between the international and national federations so that all stakeholders in the IFMA family mutually benefit.

This cooperation has been of the utmost importance with over 70 national federations in IFMA being recognised by their NOC or the highest sports authority. Belarus under the leadership of General Yuriy Karaev is one of these examples. The federation is fully recognised by the NOC and the Sports Ministry is hosting the 2017 IFMA World Championships.
Athletes from all five continents will travel to this important event and one major IFMA policy is the exchange of sport and intercultural exchange and dialogue. Many activities are planned during the ten day stay in cooperation with the national federation, IFMA and all partners in the recognised world of sport.

A special MoU was signed between iFMA and the national federation to ensure to use the power of sport for the betterment of society and to leave a legacy behind when the competition comes to an end.
