IFMA is proud to be part of United World Youth Festival held in Bangkok from 14-19 of November. The event, which is under patronage of the International Olympic Committee, International Paralympic Committee and the Special Olympics brought together 140 International Organisations including IFMA, working for and with the youth of the world.

The opening ceremony conveyed welcome messages from world sport leaders such as IOC President Thomas Bach, IPC President Andrew Parsons, SOI Board Chairman Tim Shriver, UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay, 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon among others, all delivered powerful messages of peace and unity.

The event was opened by the Minister of Sport & Tourism of Thailand, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn and the United Through Sports President Stephan Fox. Many VIPs were in attendance in the front row seats such as HRH Tengku Amir Shah Crown Prince of the Malaysian state of Selangor, HRH Princess Dlayel Nahar Saud Al Saud from the Kingdom of Suadi Arabia, among many others.

Over 2000 participants of all abilities from over 80 nations were involved in the 5 days of educational and cultural exchange during the conferences and 6 days of sport activities throughout the sport festival. IFMA, a proud IOC recognised organisation was delighted to be a key active federation in the event, and will continue to promote the Olympic values and building through sport, a better world.
