The Hong Kong Muaythai Association, the sole recognized Muaythai association in Hong Kong recognized by their sports ministry, made their yearly training camp to Bangkok at the official IFMA gym, Mongkon Academy. In heartfelt tradition, and Mongkon Academy theme of “Do Good, Feel Good,” during their training camp in Bangkok, the Hong Kong Muaythai team took time to give back—joining IFMA’s Sport Is My Gang initiative in the heart of Bangkok. Led by Hong Kong Muaythai Association President, Mr. Neville Kotewell, the team spent the afternoon training, playing games, and sharing meals with local kids.

“It was a great experience,” said the Hong Kong Muaythai Association President Neville Kotewell. “The team will continue to support social projects and the sport in Thailand.”

HKMTA athlete, Chung stated, “During our visit, we donated food, snacks, and funds to support the gym, helping them purchase the supplies they need. We truly enjoyed this meaningful trip and are committed to returning next year during our training camp to continue supporting the SIYG gym and the children in this community. Their resources are limited, and we believe it’s important to do our part and extend a helping hand.”

It was HKMTA National Coach, Vincent Leung’s third visit to the SIYG facility, “We’d like to express our heartfelt gratitude to IFMA for providing such a wonderful facility where kids can train and communities like ours can visit and contribute. We are already looking forward to future events with the SIYG kids. Spending time with them has been a rewarding and fun experience, and we can’t wait to come back next year. Thank you for this incredible opportunity!”

Big respect to the HK team for bringing the Muaythai spirit beyond the ring!
