MAIN EVENT – WORLD BANTAMWEIGHT FULL MUAY THAI TITLE – 5 rounds of 2 minutes
Misty Sutherland (Calgary) vs Elisabeth Tapias (Spain)

MISTY SUTHERLAND/KOLOZETTI

Calgary, Canada

5’4″, 119 lbs

MUAY THAI

Misty comes from a well respected name of Canadian cowboys. Her family is well known in the rodeo circuit (specifically in Chuckwagon Racing). Misty has dedicated the last 10 years of her life to become one of the best MuayThai athletes in the world. She has achieved great things under the guidance of Ajarn Mike Miles of the SitKraitus Camp. Misty is presently the North American Champion and has won many other titles during her career (2005 WKA World Champion, 2005 IKF North American Champion, 2 time IFMA World Championships Silver Medalist / 2006, 2009). She has fought in Canada, USA, Korea, Thailand, and Germany. She has won 26 of her 33 bouts (with 5 losses and 2 draws).

Her nickname ‘Magic’ was given to her by her coach Ajarn Mike Miles. The nickname comes out of Misty appearing to be an underdog during a bout and then suddenly picking the perfect techniques to stop or damage her opponent. Misty looks forward to the bout with Tapias. This amateur World Title bout is a major stepping stone in her career as she moves forward aggressively to eventually becoming a professional World Champion. 2010 is very busy for Misty who fights on the March 27th as the main event. She then travels to London in a major fight against one of the world’s best female athletes from the UK. Another match is set up for her in June/July in Calgary. She then fights in the 1st SportAccord World Combat Games in August where a total of 88 of the best MuayThai athletes (11 divisions with the 8 best athletes from around the world in each division) will compete in Beijing China. Misty won a silver medal at the 2009 IFMA World Championships and this earned her the right to compete at the World Combat Games. The future is bright for this Calgarian cowgirl who moves forward to be the best female MuayThai athlete to come out of Canada.
