Mr Gennady Trukhanov, President of the Ukrainian Muaythai Federation was selected as the new interim President of the European Muaythai Federation at the recent General Assembly in Krakow, Poland.

 

Over the past 15 years, the Ukrainian Muaythai Federation has seem some its best development under Mr. Trukhanov’s presidency. So it came as no surprise that such a suitable individual would be chosen to take the helm of the European continental federation.

 

The Ukrainian Muaythai Federation is one of the oldest members of IFMA and one of the founding members of the EMF, having hosted 2 successful European Championships in 2000 and 2002.

 

Mr. Trukhanov, who holds an important position within the Ukrainian government as the Mayor of Odessa is well versed in the principles of managing both on the micro and macro levels. With his involvement in both political and sport arenas, together with his love for muaythai, this will undoubtedly be another step forward for the EMF and for the development of muaythai in Europe.

 

Mr. Trukhanov’s appointment comes with the full recommendation of Sergey Bubka, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and IOC Member, and one of the legends of the Olympic Games.
