IFMA and muaythai believe in the power of sport and that muaythai can be a powerful catalyst towards peace. IFMA is proudly recognized by the International Olympic Committee and in firm partnership with Peace and Sport and Generations for Peace with the goal of Olympism to place sport at the center of the harmonious development of humankind with the view of preservation of human dignity.
Through muaythai we will continue to drive social change, community development and foster peace and understanding.
We are living in a fragile place and our world is facing so much confrontation, division and polarization and more than ever, we must join hands and use the Olympic values as a symbol of tolerance and peace. This is why IFMA ensures that athletes which live in countries of turmoil can have a chance to train in a safe environment and this has been done with many refugee teams, the athletes from Ukraine and this month of February, the Palestinian Youth National team have been invited by IFMA, the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand (AMTAT) and the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (PAT) for a cultural exchange program.
The youth team will have the chance to train, participate in cultural and educational exchange programs and above all, are in a safe environment.
The President of IFMA, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan and the Vice President of IFMA Khun Somchart Charoenwacharawit stated that this will showcase once again, that Thailand is a country of peace where all races and religions live peacefully together and that we are proud to provide these young athletes living in daily fear, to be part of a safe environment and bring smiles back to their faces.
