After the successful SEA Games, all of Asia is now looking forward to the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games; the event which is under the umbrella of the Olympic Council of Asia will see for the first time teams from the Oceania region participating. Over 30 National Olympic Committees are sending teams to the muaythai competition which will be one of the major competitions during the games.FAMA General Secretary Mervyn Tan stated that Asia had a great year with the Youth World Championships in Bangkok, the SEA Games in Malaysia and now Ashgabat. All the Asian muaythai powerhouses from Thailand, Iran, China, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will send their best athletes to the competition.

IFMA Sport Director Charissa Tynan stated that Ashgabat will be much more than just a competition; presentations will be made on the future of IFMA and FAMA as an IOC recognised sport and federation, highlighting the partnership with the IOC, GAISF and SportAccord, UNESCO, Peace and Sport, and UN Women.

The Turkmenistan Muaythai Federation is looking forward to welcoming all their Asian sisters and brothers in their beautiful country.
