All seats were filled and there was only standing space left at the arena for Thursday evening at the IFMA Muaythai University World Cup, under patronage of FISU. There were many exciting bouts throughout the evening with team Thailand losing 3 of their major players to athletes from Israel, Russia, and Kazakhstan. In other weight divisions, Thailand kept their pride alive by beating Brazil, Turkey, and Mexico.

There were so many other close fights, with Sweden and Poland winning all their fights in the preliminary bouts. Switzerland, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Australia, and Vietnam, all had athletes making it into the second round of competitive bouts.

The level of competition have been outstanding, and everyone is looking forward to the second day of bouts. Congratulations to all the winners, and for the losers, there will be another championship, but at the same time, they have had the honour of being a part of Muaythai history.
