A joint meeting took place today, between the General Secretary of FAMA, IFMA Executive board member and President of the Singapore Muaythai Association, Mervyn Tan, as well as the IFMA International Office at the IFMA HQ in Bangkok.

High on the agenda is the upcoming Asian Beach Games happening from the 14th to the 24th of November in Phuket where Muaythai is one of the participating sports under the Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA). 23 National Olympic Committees of Asia have submitted teams to this important event and without a doubt, Muaythai will be one of the main attraction.
FAMA General Secretary Mervyn Tan stated that the unity in Asia is key to success and this event is the second major event in 2014 in Asia following the successful World Championships last May where 102 countries participated.
IFMA Sports Director Charissa Tynan also said that, the seven day event in Phuket will be used to its fullest as their will also be a five day meeting with the World Technical Commission where all the technical delegates come together in order to discuss all the technical matters for the upcoming major event in 2015 such as the Muaythai University World Championships and the Royal World Cup both being held in Thailand.
