Muaythai is a sport built on respect for others, and many federations support children’s charities in different ways. During the European Championships the athletes signed an awareness wall for a charity working with ill children.

The Czech Muaythai Federation works with disadvantaged children as part of the Sport Is Your Gang project certainly. But they also support a charity DEBRA working with very ill children who need specialised treatment.

Petr Ottich says: ” MuayThai is not just about sport, it is also about regard, humility and respect. That is why C.M.T.A. together with athletes from now going European Championship IFMA decided to highlight those who are fighting severe illnesses. With their signatures athletes gives respect to children suffer from butterfly wings (Epydermolysis Bullosa).”

Athletes including French champion Jimmy Vienot signed their name on a moveable wall which will be displayed later in Prague to support the charity.

This is in addition to the highly visible support for Sport Is Your Gang when all volunteers wore t-shirts with the distinctive touch-gloves symbol.

DEBRA is an international registered charity with offices in many European countries. Information on donations to the Czech branch can be found on EMF Facebook page.
