2016 European EMF-IFMA Muaythai Championships, held in one of the most historical and beautiful cities in Europe, Split, under the patronage of NOC and Sports Ministry of Croatia just received the highest honour. The President of the country, Ms Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic gave her patronage to the event.
This shows the recognition Croatian muaythai has under the President and former muaythai and K1 superstar Branko Cikatic, but also for IFMA the world governing body of the sport of muaythai. The event already has highest recognition as it is the official European Qualifier for 2017 World Games which are under patronage of IOC and in which muaythai is an official medal sport.
Over 500 athletes from Europe will come together to contest for 11 spots in the World Games which shows the recognition and importance the World Games have in the world in muaythai.
