Halfway through the year and there are still plenty of Muaythai events penned into the calendar for 2014. Krakow, Poland is gearing up to host the 2014 Muaythai European Championships from the 21st to the 28th of September this year.

After the huge success of the World Championships in Langkawi earlier this year, the focus will be shifted to Krakow, Poland with 40 European countries competing in the upcoming Muaythai event. With Muaythai exponentially gaining popularity world-wide, this will be a great promotion for Poland as well as for Muaythai on the international level. This will also show the other members of the International World Games that they have made the right decision to include Muaythai as a sport. H.E. Mr Bansarn Bunnag, the Thai ambassador to Warsaw, Poland will also be the honorary patron at this upcoming event and has stated that he is looking forward to the event which will also emphasize the importance of cultural cooperation between Thailand and Poland as well as other European countries.

The Secretary General of the European Muaythai Federation, and Polish Muaythai Federation President, Rafal Szlachta, stated that Poland is honoured to host the 2014 European Championship and that many strong teams from the 40 member countries will be attending. There will be a high level of skill and competition with the various participants and the event will definitely help make Muaythai more popular as a cultural art form and a sport.
