Dear IFMA National Federations,

As we approach the conclusion of 2024, we take this moment to reflect on a truly remarkable year for the IFMA family—a year defined by extraordinary milestones, unity, and progress that echo the values of sport and culture we hold dear.

In 2024, our IFMA family has grown stronger, now proudly representing 156 National Federation members. This expansion is a testament to the global appeal of Muaythai and the shared commitment to the principles that underpin our sport.

The IFMA World Championships in Greece, alongside the unforgettable Wai Kru cultural performance at Olympia, captured the essence of Muaythai’s heritage and values, leaving an indelible mark on all who witnessed these historic moments. Equally inspiring was the Youth World Championship in Bangkok, our largest to date, showcasing the vibrant future of our sport with participants from every corner of the globe.

Our commitment to inclusivity continues to shine as we expand our multi-level and special divisions, ensuring that Muaythai remains a sport for all. This year saw us proudly included in Olympic-recognised multi-sport events such as the Islamic Solidarity Games and the Bolivarian Games—further evidence of Muaythai’s growing global recognition.

Paris 2024 was a milestone for Muaythai, as we proudly showcased our sport on one of the biggest global stages with events at Club France, a nine-day Muaythai House, and a historic showcase at OLY House. These moments not only celebrated our sport but also strengthened the bonds between Muaythai and the Olympic Movement.

On a national level, 104 of our National Federations organised championships, involving over 30,000 athletes. Meanwhile, we witnessed 384 professional events across all five continents—a powerful demonstration of the sport’s vitality and reach.

Our commitment to the highest standards of integrity and fairness remains steadfast. In 2024, we continued to enforce a zero-tolerance policy on anti-doping, ensuring compliance with WADA standards and safeguarding the spirit of clean sport.

Cultural cooperation also flourished this year, with 64 events held in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassies around the world, reinforcing our enduring connection to Muaythai’s motherland. Additionally, over 2,000 instructors participated in our training courses, ensuring excellence on and off the field of play. The health, safety, and protection of our athletes remain paramount, as evidenced by the participation of over 800 referees and judges in R&J courses to uphold fair play and athlete welfare.

These remarkable achievements stand as a testament to what we can accomplish together as One IFMA Family. As we celebrate these milestones, we look ahead to an even brighter 2025, inspired by the principles of One World, One Muaythai.

On behalf of the IFMA Executive, AMTAT, and PAT, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your dedication and contributions to this shared journey. We wish you a joyful holiday season and a healthy and prosperous New Year. Together, we will continue to build a stronger future for Muaythai in 2025 and beyond.

With my warmest regards,

Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan
