Islay Erika Bomogao made history by becoming the first Filipina Muaythai World Champion at the 2023 IFMA Senior World Championships in Bangkok, competing in the elite combat division. Bomogao also clinched gold medals in the Mae Muay and Wai Kru divisions at the 31st SEA Games and the 2021 World Championships respectively. Her exceptional skills and unwavering dedication to the art and culture of Muaythai are evident in her achievements as one of the most well rounded elite IFMA athletes, which serve as a source of immense pride for the IFMA family, the entire Muaythai community and certainly her country.
