Semi-Finals
Men’s -51kg: Le Cong Nghi from Vietnam emerged victorious after trailing in points in the first round after a strong round 1 performance from Mongolia’s Tsogtgerel Nyamgerel. Vietnam bit down in the second round and came out swinging to overpower Nyamgerel in the second round and secure him a spot in the finals for gold.
Women’s -54kg: Ginny Teo from the Singapore continued her winning streak in the tournament stopping Chinese Taipei’s Yun Lin in the first round.
Finals:
Men’s -67kg: The Home Team’s Jung-Ho Hsu clinched the gold medal dominating all three rounds with a hard-fought victory in the finals over Korea’s Sangheon Lee.
Women’s -51kg: Floryvic Montero of the Philippines continued her impressive run, securing her gold medal showcasing her strong boxing skills which kept Hong Kong’s Hoi Ting Lam under control with a dominant performance.
The day once again saw Hong Kong’s strong presence, with their athletes achieving 4/5 wins with 3 golds and 1 athlete advancing to the finals.
Philippines also shone brightly, with 2/3 wins for the day, securing 1 gold and 1 athlete advancing to the finals underscoring their talent and excellence in the competition.
