Day 2 of the IFMA 2025 Asian Muaythai Championships saw the Thai Nguyen Sports Complex come alive with a packed house, roaring with energy as athletes battled for their place in the semifinals. The crowd was on its feet throughout the day, cheering not just for their countries—but for world-class Muaythai at its finest.

Kazakhstan led the medal count, with their athletes delivering high-level performances across multiple divisions. Close behind were Vietnam, riding a wave of hometown support, Thailand, and the ever-strong UAE.
Men’s Division Highlights

In what was arguably the fight of the tournament so far, Thailand’s Suphakon Sirilun and UAE standout Mohamed Touizi clashed in the 57kg Senior Male Elite Division. The bout was a masterclass in Muaythai skill and heart. Though Touizi was dropped multiple times, his resilience and unrelenting will to finish the match earned him thunderous respect. Sirilun ultimately took the win—but in the eyes of the fans, both warriors walked out as champions.

Another electric showdown came courtesy of Afghanistan’s World Games hopeful, Sayed Rohullah Mosawi, who faced Vietnam’s Dao Dai Hai. In a match full of explosive exchanges and razor-thin margins, it was Rohullah’s sharp and well-timed outside knees in the final round that sealed the victory.

Women’s Division Powerhouses

The Female Division kicked off with a statement from Singapore’s Superstar, Cheryl Gwa, whose dominance in the clinch and powerful knees earned her a first-round stoppage over India’s Anita Rai. Gwa’s performance was as clinical as it was commanding.

In another standout matchup, Kazakhstan’s Milana Kolchenko displayed control and technical brilliance to defeat Hong Kong’s Thammakaew Kanlaya, adding to Kazakhstan’s momentum on the leaderboard.

With the quarter finals approaching, the tension is building and the athletes are rising to the occasion. Each division is now packed with contenders who have proven they’re ready for the spotlight—and the pressure.
