Malaysia Major Events, representing the host country for the 2014 IFMA World Championships, the Russian Muaythai Federation and their sponsor Stroyservis, the Russian Union of Martial Arts and IFMA, joined forces for this cultural night. Thanks to the time of year, St. Petersburg is currently enjoying the beginning of its famed “White Nights” when the sun does not set until midnight. The special, unending light lent the evening a dreamy feel.

The event was opened by His Highness Tunku Imran, IOC member and President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, together with Mr Pavel Zhuravlev, CEO of the upcoming World Combat Games, Tony Nagamaiah, International General Manager of Malaysia Major Events, and IFMA General Secretary, Stephan Fox. Together, they made a toast together to all attendees.

Guests were picked up at their hotels and greeted at the boat by Malaysian student volunteers in traditional Malaysian dress, while the Russian waiters served food and drink in Muay Boran uniforms. Following cultural presentations and speeches, the evening’s entertainment was organised by the Russian federation, featuring a series of Russian performances. After dinner on the boat and evening drinks and conversation on the boat’s veranda, a night cruise along the Neva was organised. The boat became a dance floor, with friends from different sports enjoying their friendship.

Once again thank you from IFMA to Malaysia Major Events, RMTF and their sponsor Stroyservis.
