It has been six years since Thailand had the honour to stage a major international Muaythai event, so the excitement is high in the kingdom since they have been awarded to be the host of the first ever Muaythai University World Cup, under patronage of FISU.

Around 40 countries from all 5 continents will be sending their national teams in cooperation with their National University Sports Federation to the event which will be held from the 17th to the 23rd of March in Bangkok.

The event will be jointly organized by the Royal Thai Government, the Department of Physical Education, Ministry of Tourism and Sport, Sport Authority of Thailand, Thailand University Sports Board, the Amateur Muaythai Authority of Thailand under Royal Patronage, and sanctioned by IFMA the world governing body for the sport of Muaythai, recognized by SportAccord, the International World Games Association, and the Olympic Committee of Asia.
