The organising committee of the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) has launched its official website setting the countdown clock till the fifth edition of the games where muaythai will be represented in the Turkmenistan capital, Ashgabat the “Pearl of Central Asia”, from September 15-24, 2017.

For the first time in OCA history it will see the joint participation of NOCs from Asia and from the Oceania Confederation, with 21 sports on the programme which will give Oceania Continental Federation led by its President, Ms. Sue Latta another great event to participate.

The website provides details on the 62 participating NOCs, the sports, the six-month torch relay covering 4,573 km, volunteers and on the culture and history of Turkmenistan.


There is also a detailed look at the magnificent new Olympic Complex which will stage the 5th AIMAG. Covering an area of 157 hectares, the complex comprises over 30 different sites, including social services, transport and other infrastructure.

Asian and Oceanian Muaythai Federations are already looking forward to the opening of the games and the host, the Turkmenistan Muaythai Federation, have entered their active stage of preparation taking part in all major IFMA events with one aim – to make sure that the Ashgabat Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games is a great success for Turkmenistan sport.
