The South African Amateur Muaythai Federation (SAAMF) invited South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) to host an Anti-Doping workshop for the athletes, coaches and management staff of the NF on Saturday the 17th of August 2013.

SAIDS is the responsible agency for doping control in South Africa.  As a member of IFMA which is a signatory of the WADA Anti-Doping Code, SAAMF holds safety and fair play as one of its primary objectives.  The SAAMF strives to have its athletes tested for any doping which can give unfair advantage.
Through IFMA’s recognition status in SportAccord, SAAMF gained automatic recognition by the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC). Its constitution was updated to include requirements stipulated by SAIDS and an anti-doping workshop was organised to educate the SAAMF members.

Now that SAAMF is Anti-doping compliant SAAMF can roll-out ‘fair play’ among the athletes in South Africa enhancing the spirit of sporting values and transparency in Muaythai in South Africa.
