Stephan Fox, the IFMA General Secretary who needs no introduction in the world of sport has played a part on every level of the sporting family. He has been an athlete, an official, a national coach, an administrator and today holds the position of the President of 23 world recognised sports grouped together under AIMS.

Mr. Fox is a believer in “do good feel good”, and is involved in many social responsibilities which have required him to travel to more than 70 countries in his quest to promote every aspect of sport. He has also been a guest speaker at many sport conferences especially at university level on using the power of sport as a tool to create a positive impact on society. He has lectured on this subject many times in Uzbekistan and has recently been honoured by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Uzbek State Institute of Physical Culture in Sports with the degree of ‘Honourary Professor of Physical Culture in Sports’.

The sporting world congratulates Mr. Fox who stated that he is truly honoured to receive this title. Stephan will continue to blend sport with culture and education which he considers the platform of life and the platform of the Olympic movement. Fox went on to say “We must continue to foster the talent of youth through sport and help to influence and build the upcoming generations that will represent our future as much in life as in sport”.

The award was presented to Mr. Fox by Aliyev Murodjon, the Deputy Minister for Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the presence of Axmatdjanov Umid, the President of the Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Kasimov Oybek, the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Tashmatov, the Vice President of the Amateur Boxing Association of Uzbekistan and the former President of the Uzbekistan Muaythai Federation.

The deputy minister made an emotional speech stating that “Mr. Fox is a true ambassador of sport who has contributed to the development of sport in Uzbekistan in many ways, the Republic of Uzbekistan truly respects and honours the work done by Mr. Fox”.
