The Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sport (AIMS), an IOC-recognized umbrella organization, played a pivotal role at the Africa International Sports Convention (CISA), uniting its member federations from across the continent.

One of the key highlights of AIMS’ participation was its dynamic exhibition booth, organized in collaboration with United Through Sports, with significant contributions from IFMA, the IOC-recognized governing body of Muaythai. More than just a showcase, the booth became a lively hub of engagement, attracting young participants who eagerly took part in various sports activities, including Muaythai. This interactive setup underscored AIMS’ commitment to fostering youth participation and inclusivity in sport.
In addition to the vibrant activities, important discussions were held with several African National Olympic Committees (NOCs), culminating in a significant meeting with Senegal’s Ministry of Sports, the Paralympic Committee, and the Special Olympics Committee. This gathering marked an important milestone, introducing the 20 AIMS member federations to key stakeholders in African sports governance.
The Senegalese Muaythai Association took this opportunity to engage with the Sports Ministry, National Olympic Committee and Special and Paralympic Committees to strengthen relations and establish future goals for the development of Muaythai in Senegal.

CISA provided the perfect platform for IFMA and the Muaythai Association of Senegal to promote the art and culture of Muaythai through various activities engaging in over 200 participants of all abilities including engagements with Special Olympics Senegal at Talibou Dabo school, interactions with local communities and convention attendees at the AIMS and UTS booth, and scheduled workshops throughout the event.

The Senagalese Muaythai Association President, Ahmed Cheikh Bara Mbacke stated, “The various meetings and relationships established at CISA were very important to further develop Muaythai in Senegal. We thank the IFMA leadership for their full support.”

AIMS President and IFMS Secretary General, Stephan Fox, attended in person, delivering special presentations and presenting gratitude plaques to the National Olympic Committee of Senegal, the Special Olympics Committee, and the Paralympic Committee in recognition of their contributions to sports development. He also extended his appreciation to IOC Executive Board Member Ivo Ferriani for his ongoing support and presence at CISA, as well as to Diamil Faye, President of the CISA 2025 Organizing Committee, for his instrumental role in orchestrating an event that united nations across Africa in the shared vision of sports growth and inclusivity.

Reflecting on the convention, Fox emphasized AIMS’ ongoing mission, stating, “AIMS will continue to promote its members and, above all, the athletes of all abilities.”
The event not only reinforced AIMS’ commitment to its federations and athletes but also highlighted its expanding role in advancing sports diplomacy, youth engagement, and inclusive development across Africa.
