As the sun rose over Space 42 Arena, the heart of Muaythai beat not just in the ring—but in rhythm, reverence, and tradition. Day 3 of the IFMA Youth World Muaythai Championships marked the powerful beginning of the Cultural Competition, where over 50 youth performances transformed the field of play into a living tapestry of heritage.

This wasn’t just a showcase—it was a celebration of the soul of Muaythai: the Cultural Discipline of Wai Kru and Mai Muay. With grace, precision, and deep respect, young athletes from around the world honored their teachers, their families, and the ancient lineage of the sport through movement that speaks louder than words.

🧘♂️ Passing Down a Legacy

The Culture and Heritage Commission has elevated this year’s event with free daily Wai Kru workshops, open to all athletes and delegates. Led by revered masters Ajahn Sawaeng, Kru Somphong, and Kru Ryan, these sessions have become a sanctuary of learning and connection.

Participants have been privileged to learn directly from Yan Jia Chi, a multiple gold medalist in Wai Kru, whose elegance and depth of understanding inspire awe. Alongside her, Salama Al-Jeneibi, champion of both Wai Kru and Mai Muay, has captivated audiences with her powerful demonstrations and heartfelt storytelling through movement.

Together, they are not just teaching technique—they are passing down over 1,000 years of tradition, ensuring that the next generation carries the spirit of Muaythai with pride and authenticity.

🌏 A Global Stage for Cultural Unity
From the rhythmic footwork of Thailand to the expressive gestures of athletes from Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, the Cultural Competition has become a beacon of unity. Each performance is a bridge between past and present, between nations and generations.

As the week continues, the Cultural Discipline will remain a cornerstone of the championship—reminding us all that Muaythai is more than combat. It is art, it is respect, and it is identity.
