The European Muaythai Federation (EMF) are calling on all muaythai lovers with a creative side to create a logo to embody the “European Muaythai Championship 2014” in Krakow, Poland which will inspire participants to participate and spectators to visit the venue.

The Logo should contain a positive message which could show how Muaythai can be used as an effective forum to unite countries from all over Europe in Krakow. The winner will receive a 200 Euro cash prize (*conditions apply) and the winning logo will be used as a public service announcement to be published in major European print media and other outlets.

Deadline for submissions is 14 February 2014!!

Contest Rules & Regulations:

1.1 Submission deadline

Submission ends at midnight (CET) 14 February 2014. Late entries will not be accepted.

All submissions must be made through the designated website www.euromuaythai.eu.

1.2 Selection Process

The organizer will appoint a five member pre-selection committee whose role is to ensure that submissions meet the rules outlined in the Call for Submissions. The pre-selection committee will select 10 finalists which will be sub­mitted to the jury. Entries not adhering to the rules may be excluded from the competition, at the discretion of the jury. The jury’s decision is final and there is no appeal.

The jury consists of the following members:

 

1.3 Prizes

The award will be 800 PLN (200 Euro) cash prize given by the European Muaythai Federation to the winner selected by the jury. The individual recipients of prize money will be responsible for the tax implications of their winnings.

2. COMPETITIONS RULES

2.1 Participation

The competition is open to all. Participants must be 18 years of age and over.

All submissions must be in English and translated to Polish. Entries submitted without translation will be disregarded.

EMF and IFMA employees and all members of their immediate family, firm, or design teams (designers who collaborate on a regular basis) are not eligible to enter the competition.

All fields on the submission form must be completed in order for entries to be accepted.

Logo must be submitted with the following filename: EC2014Logo_[name] [number](Eg. EC2014Logo_JoeBlack1, and so on)

Once an entry is received, it is considered a final submission and may not be modified, edited, or substituted.

2.2 Submission

Each participant can upload up to three images.

All submissions must be made through the designated website. Received entries on paper or via post will not be accepted. Entry is free.

Submission ends at midnight (CET) 14 February 2014. Late entries will not be accepted. All submissions must be made through the designated website www.euromuaythai.eu.

No responsibility is assumed on the part of EMF for late entries or corrupted files. Incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with the above formal specifications will be automatically disqualified.

Due to the high volume of last-minute entries, we advise you to submit your entry well in advance of the submission deadline.

By submitting the submission form you certify the following statement:
“I certify that I am the author of the material I am submitting to EMF. I hold the copyright to the logos submitted but in the event that my entry is declared winner, European Muaythai Federation will hold the copyright and has the authority to reproduce, distribute, publish, display, edit, modify, create derivative works and otherwise use the materials for any purpose in any form and on any media. I agree to indemnify EMF for all damages and expenses that may be incurred in connection with the materials submitted.”

 

2.3 Technical requirements

Image submissions should meet the following requirements when uploading on the competition website:

In JPEG format (RGB),Maximum size of 1000x1414px at 72 dpi, Horizontal or vertical orientation, Limit of 5MB per image.

Submissions should not have any visible watermarks, signatures, or anything personally identifiable.

The finalists will be requested to provide a high resolution image (minimum 300 dpi) in the prescribed size – A2 portrait or landscape. The inability to produce a professional reproduction quality image in the prescribed size may result in an exclusion from the list of finalists.

Entries must be submitted in final, camera-ready form, with little to no touch-up

needed once submitted–clean and clear-cut designs will work best. Any colors used must be CMYK only, and capable of being reproduced in grayscale/black and white.

The logo can include text, images, photos or any combination of these elements.

The submitted work must include the “European Muaythai Championships 2014, Krakow, Poland” (“Mistrzostwa Europy Muaythai  2014, Krakow, Polska”) and logo with the campaign “The European Muaythai Festival Against Drugs” (“ Europejski Festiwal Muaythai Przeciw Narkotykom”) derived from the logo of the”European Championship 2014 in Krakow”.

2.4 Copyright and patents

Submitted advertisement must be an original, unpublished work. The entrant is responsible for the contents of the advertisement which cannot include copyright protected material. The entrant must have the rights for all the texts and images used in the submitted work.

The logo must not benefit any company, organization, political party or official interest group by the use, for instance, of logos, brands, or representatives or corporations, parties or organizations.

The logo must not contain any nudity, lewd, or otherwise offensive or inappropriate content. All submissions will be pre-screened by the competition moderator before they appear on the campaign website.

There can be no reference to your identification included in or on the entire artwork. However, all submissions must be clearly linked to its author. Creative credits will be requested if your artwork is chosen as a finalist. Creative credits for your artwork will be included in possible exhibits and print media.

Participants retain full ownership of their entry. Participants agree to grant EMF, competition media partners, Championship participants and the social initiatives that are associated with, and approved by, EMF an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, exhibit, publicly display and distribute their submitted entry for any activity hosted by EMF or its partners. Every participant is granted and guaranteed the right to be credited every time their entry is published or displayed.

The material may not be reproduced for the purpose of commercial or personal financial gain.

Any decision made by the organizers in any matter relating to the print logo competition is considered final and binding. The EMF cannot be held responsible for force majeure, should the print logo competition have to be modified or cancelled.

2.5 Selection Process

The organizer will appoint a five member pre-selection committee. A complete list of names will be announced in March.

Only ONE winner will be selected. The pre-selection committee will select 10 finalists which will be sub­mitted to the jury. The 10 finalists will be made public on the competition website on 20 March 2014.

Entries not adhering to the rules may be excluded from the competition, at the discretion of the jury. The jury’s decision is final and there is no appeal.

Public voting will commence on 1 March 2014 and continue until 15 March 2014 (midnight CET).

2.6 Notification of winners

The 10 finalists will be contacted via e-mail and asked to provide creative credits and further information.
