Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!!

Muaythai Australia is booming. As the only recognized Muaythai organization in Australia and an official member of IFMA—the world body acknowledged by the IOC—the sport has seen tremendous growth over the past 25 years. Muaythai Australia has successfully established a robust structure across all six federal states, with each state operating its own federation under its umbrella. With numerous weekly events held nationwide, it remains the only legitimate organization capable of fielding teams at Olympic-recognized events sanctioned by IFMA.

This week in Sydney, the iconic Darling Harbour was transformed by the vibrant Artistry Festival—a celebration of global culture, music, food, and the arts. Among the festival’s many highlights, Thailand truly stole the show with an exceptional display of its rich heritage. The event featured traditional cuisine, cultural performances, and a compelling presentation of Thai Muaythai pride. The Muaythai segment was proudly supported by the Royal Thai Consulate in Sydney, the Thai Trade Association, and NSW Muaythai President Andrew Parnham, who commended the ongoing collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy as one of the major figures in Muaythai Australia

An enthusiastic, capacity crowd gathered on the main day to experience all facets of Muaythai—from the ritualistic Wai Khru and Mae Muay to competitive bouts featuring elite athletes, underscoring why Thailand remains a global powerhouse in the sport. The second day was dedicated to the future of Muaythai, with a special development event spotlighting the next generation. Young talents demonstrated their passion and skill, thrilling the audience and reinforcing the sport’s dynamic growth.

A special thank you goes to PTJ Muaythai for coordinating this exceptional event. The occasion was further elevated by the presence of distinguished Thai dignitaries, including:

Their attendance highlighted the deep cultural ties between Thailand and Australia, emphasizing Muaythai’s unique role as a bridge for cultural exchange and diplomacy.

Overall, the event was a spectacular success, reinforcing the strength of Muaythai in Australia and its growing global influence. With Brisbane set to host the 2032 Olympics, Muaythai’s popularity continues to soar, inspiring the next generation to dream of reaching the Olympic stage.

A big thank you to the Royal Thai Embassy and Consulate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their continued support. One World, One Muaythai.
