France showcased their dominance with an outstanding performance, securing five gold medals out of seven competitors. Their athletes demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, making them the standout team of the day.
In a historic moment for the refugee team, Anton Podhornyi delivered a commanding victory against France’s Khalys Abdherrahmane, bringing home their first gold medal of the championship. Podhornyi’s performance was a clean sweep, solidifying his place in the annals of the competition.
The hometown hero, Lindon Demiri of Kosovo, gave local fans plenty to cheer about. His match against Poland’s Bartlomiej Pioro was a masterclass in technique and determination. Demiri’s strong hands, clinch game, spinning back elbows, precise push kicks, and relentless pressure led to an early finish in the third round, with three standing 8 counts forcing the compulsory count limit.
