A standout moment for the host nation was when Lindon Demiri triumphed in the U23 Male Under 54kg category, defeating Patrik Polocz of Hungary with a decisive score of 30. This victory brought excitement and pride to the local supporters, setting a positive tone for the Kosovo team.
In the female divisions, Viktoriia Sokolova of Ukraine displayed impressive prowess as she defeated Doroti Sütő from Hungary in the U16 Female Youth -48kg semifinal. The U23 Female Under 67kg division saw strong performances from Hungary’s Mira Hornyik and Belgium’s Selma El Hasouni, who both secured wins to advance further in the competition.
France’s Sehmi Staub made an impact in the U18 Male Youth -54kg quarterfinals with a victory over Ivan Šimunić of Croatia by referee stoppage (RSCB), demonstrating his formidable technique. Nikita Kuts of Ukraine also impressed in the S Male Elite -54kg semifinal by overcoming Israel’s Din Haziza.
Other notable wins included Konstantinos Karalis of Greece and Filip Kisiel of Poland, who showcased superior skills in their respective U16 and U18 matches. The U23 Female Under 57kg division featured a strong showing from Irena Smolíková of the Czech Republic, who secured a victory over Armenia’s Lusi Ter Davtyan.
Sergiu Rota of Moldova took a well-deserved win in the S Male Elite -60kg category, while Turkey’s Abdussamet Ugurlu advanced with a decisive performance in the S Male Elite -57kg. These athletes’ successes highlighted the depth of talent at the championships.
