
The Muaythai National Championship of Mongolia has successfully concluded, capturing nationwide attention and showcasing the rapid rise of Muaythai across the country. The event drew remarkable public interest, with extensive coverage from major sports and media platforms, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity and strong national momentum.

This year’s championship brought together approximately 400 athletes from 31 clubs and organizations, representing regions across Mongolia. Competitions were held across youth, junior, and senior divisions, demonstrating the depth of Mongolia’s Muaythai talent and the strength of its grassroots development. The championship also served as the official qualification event for the upcoming IFMA Junior and Senior World Championships.

Commitment to Athlete Safety and IFMA Standards
Throughout the event, the Mongolian Muaythai Federation upheld all IFMA safety and medical standards, ensuring that every athlete competed under the highest level of protection.
- Full medical examinations were conducted prior to competition.

Strong Institutional Support
The finals, held in Ulaanbaatar from March 14–15, created an electric atmosphere as athletes, coaches, and supporters united to celebrate the spirit of Muaythai. The event received strong institutional backing, underscoring the sport’s growing importance within Mongolia’s sporting landscape. Battushig Batbold, President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) and IOC Member, expressed his full support, while G. Dashnyam, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Sports, attended the championship activities.
In the lead-up to the event, IFMA held a key meeting with MNOC President Battushig Batbold to discuss the continued development of Muaythai in Mongolia and opportunities to strengthen cooperation with the Olympic Movement. IFMA commended the Mongolian Muaythai Federation for its exceptional work and the significant progress achieved in recent years.
