The National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE) celebrated Mexico’s top athletes at a prestigious ceremony at CNAR, led by Minister of Sports Rommel Pacheco Marrufo.

Among the honourees was Laura Burgos, Mexico’s leading muaythai athlete, who received official financial incentives for her achievements at the IFMA World Championships and IOC-recognised multi-sport events.
Burgos has become one of the nation’s most decorated athletes, earning:
- IFMA World Championship gold in 2024 and 2025
- Gold at The World Games 2025 (Chengdu)
- King’s Cup Champion
- Winner of the Emmy-nominated series The Challenger
Her success highlights muaythai’s growing presence in Mexico and inspires a new generation of muaythai athletes.

CONADE reaffirmed its commitment to athlete support, distributing more than 10.8 million pesos in incentives and expanding programmes for scholarships, training, and international competition.

IFMA President Dr Tapsuwan praised Burgos:
“Laura embodies the heart of Muaythai courage, respect, and an unbreakable spirit. This recognition honours not only her victories, but the values she carries for Mexico and our global Muaythai family.”

IFMA congratulates Laura Burgos and all athletes celebrated at CONADE’s Best of Mexican Sport 2025 ceremony.
