The European Muaythai family gathered yesterday for the official Team Managers Meeting, signalling the final steps before the start of the IFMA European Championships 2025. Delegates from 39 nations across the continent came together to review procedures, align on operations, and ensure a smooth and successful week ahead.

IFMA Director General Charissa Tynan opened the meeting, guiding all national teams through the schedule and competition flow for the coming days. She emphasised the importance of coordination, clear communication, and upholding the high standards expected at a continental championship. Charissa also underscored IFMA’s strong commitment to clean sport, reminding all teams that education remains a central pillar of every IFMA event. She highlighted the sessions taking place this week for Technical Officials, coaches, and Athlete Support Personnel, reinforcing that safeguarding the integrity of Muaythai begins with knowledge and shared responsibility.

The President of the Panhellenic Muaythai Federation (PMF), Ioannis Papadopoulos, welcomed all teams to Greece, expressing his pride in hosting the event and wishing every delegation an enjoyable stay and strong performances in this historic country.
Hasan Yildiz, President of the European Muaythai Federation, thanked the host nation for their dedication and hospitality and extended his best wishes to all athletes and officials as they prepare to step onto the field of play.
Technical Delegate for the event, Dr Erdogan Aydin, highlighted the importance of advance registration. With IFMA’s sophisticated electronic draw system, timely submissions allow the draw to be completed days ahead, giving athletes and coaches more time to prepare comfortably and strategically.

He also spoke on the strength of the international ITO team and the valuable contribution of experienced local referees who have undergone extensive training. Full confidence was expressed in the team’s ability to deliver fair and well-managed competition throughout the week.
Dr Erdogan reminded all managers of the rules specific to youth and senior divisions, including age-category regulations, count procedures, and the safety measures in place to protect athletes. He closed the meeting by thanking the delegations for their continued support and commitment to safe, transparent, and professionally run tournaments.
With preparations complete, the stage is set — the IFMA European Championships 2025 are ready to begin.
