This year’s Asian Beach Games will be held in the beautiful city of Phuket, Thailand.The event will be held from the 14th to the 22nd of November 2014 where 45 different Asian nations will be gathered in the heart of the famous beach city and will proudly walk around the stadium representing their national and olympic flag.
Muaythai is one of the most anticipated sport of the event with a 6 day competition schedule planned out, from the 17th to the 22nd of November, for male athletes from around Asia.
Mr.Karim Massimov, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and President of Federation of Amateur Muaythai of Asia (FAMA) under OCA stated that the Asian Beach Games is an important event in the sporting calendar and that Muaythai will be one of the most popular sport during the games as it is the national sport of Thailand.
Dr.Sakchye Tapsuwan, President of the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) recognised by the OCA, said that 2014 was indeed a successful year for Asia with the wonderful IFMA World Championships in Malaysia, the Arabic Championships in Lebanon and now with the Asian Beach Games in Thailand.
