Today was all about the beauty of the Kazan Kremlin and marking IFMA’s partnership with UN Women Asia-Pacific to stop violence against women.

Tomorrow the final bouts are upon – it always happens so fast!  Up eleven of our athletes across the male and female divisions will take their place on the Road to Wroclaw when they claim gold tomorrow  – some of our finalists are already in the happy position of being safely qualified but still gunning for glory!

IFMA is proud to be working with UN Women through their Asia-Pacific offices on the UNiTE to Eliminate Violence Against Women campaign. We are proud of our champions who continue to be role models in changing and redefining attitudes towards women and girls.

Today November 25th marked a worldwide day of action when partner organisations took to social media using #orangetheworld slogan.

A group of people from the Kazan World Cup braved the freezing temperatures to visit the Kazan Kremlin and strike a blow for women’s equality. The raised hand against violence symbol powerfully echoes IFMA’s commitment to equality and women’s rights.

Fittingly for a day about unity and cooperation the Kremlin houses both the Annunciation Cathedral and the Qolşärif Mosque within its high walls.

France and Uzbekistan meet a Russian horse!

The boxers posed for photographs, including Team France and Uzbekistan  with a very surprised horse. And tour guides filled us in on the long history of this beautiful site, dating back to the 16th century.

So how cold was it? The winding river we could see from the steps of the Cathedral was frozen over, apparently not quite fully frozen according to one of the local volunteers working with the organizing committee. So it gets even colder!
