Muaythai also referred to as Muay in some of the South East Asian countries has once again been included in the 30th edition of the SEA Games.
The biennial multisport event will be held in the beautiful Philippines this year. Muaythai was one of the most outstanding sports at the 29th edition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
IFMA President Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan stated that the SEA Games is an important regional event, and the Philippines Muaythai Federation under the leadership of General Managuealod became one of Asia’s leading federations.
FAMA President Mr. Karim Massimov stated that 2019 will be a fantastic year for the Asian and Pacific region with many events coming up: Arafura Games in Australia, the World Championships in Bangkok, Martial Masterships in Korea, the Asian Championships in Abu Dhabi and the SEA Games in Manila giving all the Asian athletes so many opportunities to compete at the highest level.
