The Organising Committee of the 2018 FISU World University Muaythai Championship, comprised of the University Sports Board of Thailand, the Thailand Institute of Physical Education and the various regional university associations organised the official site inspection visit which was attended by FISU representative Paulo Ferreira, Director of the WUC programme, IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, IFMA General Secretary Stephan Fox, and IFMA Sport Director and FISU Technical Delegate Charissa Tynan.

Both FISU and IFMA representatives were impressed by the level of professionalism and efficiency demonstrated by the OC, led by its Chairman Kopkit Thammanuchit.

The inspection covered visits to various venue options for the consideration of the FISU Technical Delegate and IFMA alongside the corresponding accommodations.

After the various site inspections, the group convened for the progress report meeting where the OC updated on all preparations thus far, as well as plans for the various key areas to be covered in the organisation of the event such as venue, facilities, accommodation, promotions & media, transportation, security and medical services.

They were happy and pleased to report that preparations were well on track and in line with the road map as outlined in the FISU Muaythai Championship handbook.

With such a strong OC behind the event, we no doubt can look forward to a successful and smooth Muaythai WUC in July next year in Pattaya, Thailand.
