This year’s FAMA Annual General Meeting was held on the rest day of the Muaythai competition at the 5th Asian Beach Games in Danang, Vietnam the Grand Sea Hotel.

The meeting was opened by FAMA General Secretary Mervyn Tan who delivered an opening message on behalf of H.E. Karim Massimov, President of FAMA. Mr Tan welcomed everyone to Danang and gave a special thanks to the Vietnam Muaythai Federation’s General Secretary Mr Thang for the warm hospitality and efforts in getting muaythai into the ABG5.

IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan then gave a welcome note on behalf of IFMA, applauding Vietnam for an outstanding competition so far and congratulated all participating teams and also thanked the LOC, officials and volunteers.

The meeting covered the important developments in FAMA and the strategic plan for the next four years. The IFMA Sport Director made a brief presentation on the IFMA Strategic Plan and IOC application. A special presentation was done by the IFMA General Secretary on the topics of good governance in sport and the need for a continued effort on all levels toward Fair Play.

The meeting concluded with all the regional representatives giving their detailed reports on recent and upcoming activities.
