IFMA, the world governing body for amateur Muaythai has another big year ahead. The World Muaythai Day will be held on the 6th of February with many activities planned. In ApriI, IFMA will be once again one the exhibitors at the SportAccord Convention in which all the world’s leading sporting representatives in an exclusive environment will network. It was created and is owned by SportAccord, the Association of Summer Olympic Internation Federations (ASOIF) and the Association of International Olympic Winter Federation (AIOWF) the IOC Executive Board, IWGA and many other, meetings will take place during the convention.
Muaythai will have a double booth this year; it is in the program at the sports demo zone and will also be staging the popular Good Morning Muaythai workout class again. It is an important and effective tool for Muaythai to further promote the art and sport to the world.
The month of May will see the IFMA World Championships in Langkawi, Malaysia with over 2000 participants from over 100 countries. During the event there will also be congresses, workshops and there will certainly be plenty of time to mingle with friends in paradise.
There will be many other events such as the European Championships, Pan-American Championships and October will see Muaythai at the Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand.
